Blog #14: It’s HalloWEEK 🎃
IT IS OFFICIALLY PEAK SPOOKY SEASON. I REPEAT PEAK SPOOKY SEASON EVERYBODY 🎃 (omg I didn’t realize I could put emojis here, this is a GAMECHANGER 🤠)
Hi everybody, how you doing? Well I hope. I hope you are absolutely thriving right now. In the season of joy and gratitude and positivity. I hope you’re wearing something cozy right now, some fuzzy socks perhaps. Or better yet, I hope you’re in a warm comfy spot on the couch or in a chair with your favorite blanket. With your favorite candle lit as yo’re sipping your chai. I could live in that space every day. Every day, if I could freeze myself in that moment right there, I’d do it forever. Slowly sipping chai from a mug that never runs out. Slowly getting sleepier and sleepier as I bask in the warm sun. Ah, this is putting me to sleep now, but, what a dream that would be. I don’t want this season to be over.
One of the best and most exciting parts of this lovely fall season is… HALLOWEEN 👻 Who doesn’t LOVE Halloween?
What do you love most about Halloween (and fall all together, really)? Is it the candy? Is it the fall leaves? The crisp chill in the air? The silly costumes? The spooky movie marathons? Perosnally, I love & want it all. Every single day, for the rest of my life. Like I said, if I could freeze my life in this now, I’d do it HANDS-DOWN.
To me, fall is the best season, and, Halloween is majorly cool. I’m saying this as I’ve not had Halloween plans for the past years. Growing up, my family used to have an annual Halloween party with all of our friends. We’d have a big potluck with all kinds of Halloween-themed foods and drinks and desserts, what a time it was. After I got a house of my own I tried keeping that tradition up, but WOW. Totally did not realize how much effort goes into having a party. The prep work, the cleaning before and cleaning after, the mental tax you carry throughout the entire night just because you want to make sure the party is going well. Wow, I’m getting quite tired just typing all this out.
I uphelp that tradition for 1 or 2 years, it didn’t last long. See, I’ve discovered I truly don’t have time for a lot of things anymore. With this podcast, the wonderful platform that comes with it, the YouTube careers we both have, our jobs, everything else, yada yada yadaaa….. basically, we’re too busy and also realize how many other things we could probably be doing with our time. That’s why I love LOWKEY holidays.
Maybe I started feeling this way when I got married? I just love spending all the time in the world with my cat and my husband. Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends and family, so freaking much. But I think because I’m always so “on” for work and for social media, it’s exhausting. And I’m a huge fan of laying on my couch.
This year for Halloween I want to know what your plans are. I think this has a lot to do with the age group you fall into. Are you trick or treating? I’d love to, but people would ask me how old I was and I don’t want to tell them I’m 25 but still feel like a kid inside. Free candy?! I miss the last timeI was able to go trick or treating. I do remember it though, because it was with my best friend. We were both dressed as witches, and were walking through the streets of my neighborhood in the dark. I believe I was a sophomore in high school, I probably could have gone a few years longer if I REALLY wanted to. When was the last time you went trick or treating?
Maybe you have kids, and you’re taking them out for candy. Or, maybe you’re in that weird phase where you are too old to trick or treat and you’re too young to have kids. Yup, that’s us. So, most likely what I will be doing is ordering pizza, having a bonfire in our backyard with some s’mores, hanging with my cat and my husband, wearing my candy corn beanie and skeleton sweatshirt. Sounds like a fantastic night to me.
Diwali also happens to fall on Halloween this year. We will have to watch the Diwali episode of The Office and celebrate ourselves as well. All in all, it’s going to be a fantastic week and I cannot wait for Halloween.
That’s all I got for you guys this week, I hope you comment what you’re doing for Halloween and what your favorite thing is about Halloween. I love you guys, thanks for reading each week. It means the world to me.
CATCH YA NEXT TIME MUAHAHAHA. STAY SAFE OUT THERE SPOOKY FRIENDS <3
