Blog #1: The First One

Hello and WELCOME, Half Past Crew. Is this thing on? Hello? Hi? ARE YOU THERE?

Today marks the start of us sharing weekly communications with the group of people we love the most. You see, we have many ideas for this community. The most daunting of all was beginning this podcast in the first place, and here we are, now sharing profoundly personal parts of our lives with people we’ve never met before. And now, one of our next great ideas is to… build our community and feel closer to the Half Past Crew. So that’s what this is. At least, a step in that direction ;)

We're eager and excited to expand the ways we share our thoughts and experiences. As for me, Hallie, reading holds a special place in my heart. There's something so comforting about curling up with a good book in a quiet corner of a library or coffee shop, losing oneself in another person's words as time slips away.

While our writing might not transport you quite like that, we do want to offer you comfort and consistency by sharing some words each week. It's a more personal, intimate way for us to connect, almost like we're having a conversation. We believe this is really important for growing our friendships in the Half Past Crew, and we hope you're as pumped about it as we are!

We love putting out content each week, it’s exciting and has taught us so much about content creation, which ultimately is what we would love to do full-time, along with our many other side hustles. Whether it be YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, or Instagram, the love and appreciation we are shown each week is what continues to encourage us to keep pushing further and further. Without you guys, we wouldn’t be where we are. And that’s a fact.

It starts with an idea. Maybe the idea is to grab more milk for your chai, or a sudden urge to embark on a cleaning frenzy and scrub the entire house clean (I do this WAY too frequently). Or perhaps, it's as crazy as launching your own podcast, sharing the journey of being an interracial and interfaith couple with the world. Sounds like a lot, doesn't it?

Who are we to assume our voices deserve a spot on the internet? Aren't there already countless podcasts out there? What if we fail?

These are our thoughts, on the daily, we’re now sharing with you. Our goal is to create so that you can relate. Hehe, that rhymes.

Anyhow, you get the picture. Each time we release an episode we think, “Will this episode do as well as we want it to? Is this relatable? Do people even care anymore?”. We battle with our thoughts each time we plan, record, and put out an episode, or any content for that matter. It’s a little daunting, not gonna lie. But if we’ve learned one thing, it’s this: truth and authenticity… it works. And that’s why we’ve been able to attract so many wonderful individuals to our crew :)

Get ready each week to hear from us in one more way than you already do, right here in the weekly blog posting. Each Sunday you’ll have a new post to read! Woohoo! Sunday = Blog post, and Monday = the BEST DAY OF THE WEEK. PODCAST EPISODE RELEASE DAY. We love you Half Past Crew, thank you for being lovely, wonderful, you :) Catch you next time.

P.S. PLEASE be sure to let me know in the comments below about the direction you'd like this blog to take, and also get a good convo started in the comments. Mingle amongst yourselves. We can have a little discussion here each week :)
